As a parent, the hardest thing to let your teen touch would be the steering wheels. Once he sits behind it, images of drunk driving teens suddenly flood you and cause panic attacks. That is normal, every single parent experiences that in their lifetime. Sure, you could teach them when to slow down and when to speed up but that is if you are with them. What happens now as soon as you leave them alone in the company of their friends? Gah! Panic! For new drivers, the Tiwi is the device for you. Tiwi is a device that is mounted on the left part of the car's windshield. What it does is simple - monitor your child all the way.
Lumisource has been making some very sweet video game chairs with speakers for quite a while now, and they had three of their newest models on display at CES 2010. I will introduce them from left to right after the jump. Sky Lounger: “Game in Comfort” is the slogan of this oversized model. As you can see, the gamer or movie watcher is truly on his or her rocker with the Sky Lounger, and these rockers are made of chrome. The Sky Lounger features two 2-way spakers and powerful four inch subwoofer, and the volume and bass levels are controlled with a remote. (Measurements: 35 ” L x 26.5″ W x 40 ” H.) Admiral: Those that love the PC gaming world of MMOs or anything else should love the Admiral. It has an ergonomic design with an adjustable headrest for all your personal computing needs. It can also work for the television as well. It has two 2-way speakers aimed at the user for adjustable volume, base, headrest, tilt, and tension. (Measurements: 30 ” L x 32 ” W x 43 ” H.) Stealth: Check out the ground base on this bad boy!
Fine, we accept the fact that computers will continuously updated. The notebook I bought a year ago (which was the thousand dollar one - top of the line, latest, most advanced, et cetera) is almost phased out and its market price went down faster than I could type I GOT A NEW LAPTOP. I mean, how would my trusty OLD laptop compare to newer ones which are smaller, faster, and even detachable. And you would think - "Wait a minute, detachable?" And I am serious my friend, there really is a detachable one now. A tablet and a notebook synced into one but can be detached if you need not bring a notebook with you. That is the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid Notebook. The Lenovo Ideapad U1 Hybrid notebook takes technology to the next level. This notebook, err tablet, err both, is capable of working either as a notebook or a standalone tablet. The notebook's features are commendable - a Core 2 Duo processor, up to 128 GB of space and a Windows 7 Home Premium. The standalone tablet works quite well, too, with an 11.6 inch touchscreen display with its own processor and its very own Lenovo Skylight OS.
You got to admit it, your 13 year old is not acting like a 13 year old should anymore. During our time, and let's not talk about figures on when exactly that was, 13 year olds still hold on to Barbie and Play Doh. Nowadays, 13 year olds listen to Lady Gaga, spend sleepovers in friends' houses, wear heels and has their own lip gloss. And definitely, they have their own mobile phone. Sooner or later, they would be crying all over the house for an iPod. Samsung realized this dilemma that every parent with a tween faces so they came up with the mp3 player made specifically for them: the Samsung TicToc. The Samsung TicToc is especially made for tweens who have their own flavor when it comes to music. They are the ones who would start complaining about the radio program when you are in the car but whose music knowledge is limited to Rihanna and Owl City. TicToc is pretty neat, coming in three different colors (silver, pink and blue) and all looking like mini lipstick tubes. each player either has 2GB or 4GB of storage for all the latest songs your child wants to add to her player.
I always like reporting on what Nyko has to offer, so I couldn’t wait to see what they had this year at CES. For the Wii, they have two new products: the Wand + and the Charge Base Quad IC. Of course, the Wand was meant to be a more advanced and user-friendly controller for the Wii, so why not make a sequel? The Wand + has its patented “Full Motion Technology built directly into the controller for full 1:1 movement tracking that is compatible with all games that use the Wii Motion Plus attachment”. The Wand also has Trans-Port technology, that allows “key action buttons to be digitally replicated on other devices and pass sound and vibration signals to attached peripherals”. Nyko was apparently not satisfied with just making a black version of their popular Charge Base IC, which allows charging of two Wiimotes, but have stepped it up a notch with the Charge Base Quad IC. The Charge Base Quad IC uses induction technology to charge up to four controllers, and these controllers do not have to have their silicone sleeves or Wii Motion Plus attachments removed, either. It also has a dual charge indicator light and powered USB port for powering other USB devices. You should be able to get both of these devices in March 2010. The Charge Base Quad IC will be available for $49.99, and the Wand + will be for about $39.99.
The 2010 Times Square New Year's Ball is ready to go. They saved money and didn't add any LEDs, but they added new stunning Waterford clink-clink glass panels. Here's the insider look on how they did it, and why.
